Bedfordview lies east of our Maryvale base and falls within our 20 km service area. Supa Nova has served Johannesburg and the surrounding suburbs for 45 years. We are electricians and plumbers in one team, and our quotations are free.
Who is responsible for what
Bedfordview falls under the Ekurhuleni municipality, not the City of Johannesburg. This matters when a fault is on the municipal side: a failed supply to your property or a problem with the municipal sewer is reported to the municipality, while anything on your side of the connection is a job for us. We will tell you which it is, so you do not pay for a repair that is not yours to make.
Townhouses, complexes and homes
Bedfordview has a mix of freestanding homes, townhouses and complexes. In a complex, shared pipes and the common electrical supply belong to the body corporate, so tell your managing agent we are coming. Inside your unit, we repair leaks, geysers, drains and wiring faults, and issue certificates of compliance when you sell or rent. See our plumbing services and electrical services.
Solar, inverters and load shedding
Many homes have added inverters or solar systems to cope with load shedding. These change the installation, and a poorly fitted changeover switch can be dangerous, as our guide on power surges and load shedding explains. If you have added backup power, or plan to, we can check the existing installation and issue an electrical certificate of compliance.
